Learn the art of listening to your inner voice

It happens to all of us at one point or the other – losing touch with oneself and others around us. Sometimes we tune out and miss heeding to that inner voice. Something feels amiss, verily like noise erupting in lieu of music even though the radio knob is positioned on the same station you play everyday!

At other times, all we need is to filter out the mental noise, in the presence of an attuned professional. This is where Nibbana’s services for Counselling and Psychotherapy comes into play.

We may feel the need of a non-judgmental, non advising presence of another individual to help us sort out or clear our thoughts, doubts and help make a decision about career, life or any other matter that we lose sleep over.

If any of this sounds familiar, what you need is help to tune in. You need someone to guide you to relearn the art of listening to yourself.

When I first came to Nibbana I was crippled by my negative thoughts and anxiety. I was on the point of a nervous breakdown, finding it difficult to get on from day to day.

I found my sessions with the Nibbana Counselor to be incredibly helpful. She was very good at explaining why I was feeling the way I did, reassuring me that I was not alone, and that my feelings were normal. She provided me with a tool kit to use to fight my depression which has helped me regain my confidence and change the way I look at life.

After a few months, I finally feel like myself again. I know that the tools she has given me will help me in the future. My sincere and heartfelt thanks to Nibbana Counselling Centre who gave me a new lease of life. Thank you!

Nibbana Institute and my counsellor changed my whole perception of therapy. At first, like many others, I detested the idea; I didn’t believe it could help me. I remember that the very first time I went to the institute, I had a lot of inhibitions. But there is a welcoming comfort about the place that is completely non-intimidating.

My counselor scheduled the sessions carefully so that I could attend in spite of not living in Chennai. She made herself available for online sessions whenever there was a need.
The whole experience opened my eyes to how much talking to a trained professional could help someone recover from trauma. I’ve gone a long way, from hating the idea of therapy to recommending it to anyone who needs help. Thanks for changing my outlook!

This was an important journey for me, an experience that helped me order my brain. Talking with the experts at Nibbana gave me a lot of insight, helped me to connect the dots and fill in the missing pieces. At first, it was stressful to recall all the memories, as not all of them were good ones. But my counselor handles her sessions in a balanced way, and helped me bring closure to a lot of internal battles. Thanks to my Nibbana Counselor!

My journey with therapy has been like that story where an ant drowning in the river gets saved by a dove who provides her with a leaf to float on at just the right time. I still haven’t reached the shore, but thanks to my therapist, I have certainly travelled a long distance! I used to feel like I was being battered in a tempest of thoughts, but now I’m calmly surfing on the waves.

For a long time, I lived with restlessness and anxiety, and I was totally unaware of the causes. After being in therapy for more than two years, I’m able to see patterns in my unhealthy relationships. I’ve learned to distance myself from them, to talk through difficult emotions, all while building strength towards a healthy mental state.

It was a wonderful feeling to get my counseling from Nibbana Counselor. She has been really patient in understanding my problem and made me realise where I am and what I am capable of. It was more of a self-discovery and I truly cherish the support and guidance given by my Nibbana therapist.

My heartfelt gratitude to the entire team at Nibbana for this wonderful program especially during this lockdown where most of us experienced a mental and emotional breakdown.

My therapist at Nibbana was good and professional. She made it easy for me to talk by building rapport with me and making me feel comfortable to share my insecurities. I had a very satisfying experience. I thank the Nibbana team for facilitating this at the right time.

My counsellor Yasmeen was well versed and approachable for every concern raised by me. She patiently heard my issues and reasonably addressed them individually. I can see a stark difference in my confidence level and also my level of procrastinating from the time I started the therapy. One of the main reasons I was looking forward to counselling was because I had always felt unheard. My therapist addressed this concern by listening patiently and helped me identify my grievances due to childhood conditioning. She has inspired me to look beyond my inhibitions and accept my flaws and inner critic as they are. Towards the end of the sessions, I regained myself and truly believe that everyone must experience the art of listening. Thank you so much Nibbana and Yasmeen for taking me through this journey of transformation and growth.

I got to know about Nibbana from two of my friends who are getting trained there. I heard about the therapy sessions they were offering and I immediately signed up for it through a known contact. The counselling coordinator of Nibbana was helpful and professional throughout the process. My counsellor was empathetic and different from any other therapist I have tried or heard about. She is not just a good listener but there is something about her that makes it easier for me to open up to her. It is easy to connect with her. One of her best qualities, other than empathy, is punctuality. I just got done with my 9th session. I am glad I made a choice to opt for Nibbana at the right time.

Last month, I started therapy for the first time in my life. With the lockdown being hard enough as it was, I was also working on healing my inner child while I felt that I could use some external help. That’s when I got to know about Nibbana. There was so much happening within and around me that I was too tired to process it all. Having a therapist at that time helped me voice it all out, process it and feel heard so that I could move on with things in a more comfortable way. I could also question and realign some limiting beliefs I had in my head and one of the breakthroughs I’ve achieved is to start looking at healing in a more open and loving way rather than thinking of it as work. “Thanks to Nibbana for extending their services online at the time when most of us need it.
