Geethan is the Founder and Managing Director of Nibbana Institute and heads both its wings- Nibbana center for counseling and psychotherapy and Nibbana center for Organizational change and development, Chennai. A senior and renowned psychotherapist. Geethan is an approved supervisor from the International Transactional Analysis Association, USA and holds a Masters in psychology. He is an international speaker and has published many articles. Geethan’s vision is to take an organizational approach to providing mental health services and simultaneously bring change and development in organizations employing tools from psychological schools of thought.. The educational programs of Nibbana are designed on the foundation of ethics and empathy with the objective of creating competent counselors and coaches who in turn can become powerful change facilitators through their work with individuals, groups and organizations. Geethan’s uniqueness and success as a therapist is based on his model that is fundamentally client centric. Intuitive and compassionate, Geethan’s ability to tune into his client’s narrative is centered on client’s best interest and healing. Geethan is at home in using a variety of models and frameworks including, but not restricted to, TA, NLP, CBT, Gestalt, Hypnosis, Enneagram, Family Constellation and many meditative techniques derived from his own practice of Vipassana. Geethan’s approach to dreams and its analysis is a unique model developed by him over twenty years of work with clients. Many of his clients have found in him a guide for life. Geethan’s papers and articles are widely recognised and have appeared in various journals and magazines. He has authored a book in Tamil Unnai Nee Marandaden (Why did you forget yourself?), a narrative in which Geethan presents his concepts around human behaviour as observed from client experiences that he has encountered in his practice. His book A Guided Journey of a Caterpillar is about organisational change work. NICCS – a year long full time counseling certification program, the first of its kind in India is the brainchild of Geethan. Launched in 2017, NICCS is a unique course that integrates theory, application, internship and supervision, the course has already completed three successful batches.
